The Radar Mechanical Design Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. The Radar Mechanical Design Department is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the LTAMDS (Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor) Array RF Electronics Products. LTAMDS is a recent Raytheon Technologies franchise program that will deliver a next generation radar with 360-degree visibility to defeat advanced threats including hypersonic weapons.&nbsp;This person will be responsible to lead mechanical teams in all phases of our design cycles, from concept development through design, development, build and test. Key requirements for this position include proven problem solving skills and experience in hardware design and integration, engineering analysis, and mechanical drawing creation with military hardware. Individuals will interface and collaborate primarily with other engineering disciplines, as well as operations, systems, quality and program offices.

What You Will Do:

Utilizing strong mechanical hardware design experience and knowledge with electronics packaging including circuit card assembly interfaces, thermal management, interconnects, and next-higher-level integration

Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Production Oversight</li>
<li>Own day-to-day operations of the shop: scheduling, personnel management, workflow monitoring.</li>
<li>Ensure projects stay on time and within scope across all departments: Panels, Doors, Fabrication, and Shipping/Receiving.</li>
<li>Translate plans from the engineer into clear production schedules.</li>
<li>Inventory Oversight</li>
<li>Own all inventory movements. Work with shipping and receiving team to ensure accurate inventory records</li>
<li>Own monthly inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies</li>
<li>Team Leadership</li>
<li>Supervise all shop personnel — hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance reviews, and corrective action as needed.</li>
<li>Maintain a strong and respectful culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.</li>
<li>Be present and hands-on when needed: assist on the floor, troubleshoot equipment, and step in to support production bottlenecks.</li>
<li>Time tracking and time sheet management</li>
<li>ERP &amp; Data Management</li>
<li>Maintain accurate production data and reporting in Acumatica ERP.</li>
<li>Ensure that production orders, inventory movement, and production tracking are properly entered and reconciled.</li>
<li>Process &amp; Continuous Improvement</li>
<li>Identify and implement improvements in speed, quality, organization, and efficiency.</li>
<li>Standardize procedures where appropriate and train team members accordingly.</li>
<li>Develop and Monitor KPIs and drive measurable results in production performance.</li>
<li>Maintenance &amp; Safety</li>
<li>Develop and manage preventive maintenance plans for all shop equipment.</li>
<li>Ensure shop cleanliness, safety standards, and OSHA compliance.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues as needed.</li>
<li>Purchasing</li>
<li>Fulfill purchasing responsibility for all shop needs, including raw material inventory, tools, and miscellaneous parts</li>
<li>Enter and manage POs in Acumatica ERP</li>
<li>Work with vendors to achieve best pricing and lead any vendor quality resoluations</li>
</ul>
 
 
What We're Looking For
<ul>
<li>5+ years in a manufacturing, production, or shop operations leadership role.</li>
<li>Strong organizational and communication skills — able to coordinate across people and departments.</li>
<li>Proven hands-on leadership style — must be comfortable jumping in on the floor.</li>
<li>Experience with ERP systems (Acumatica preferred, but not required).</li>
<li>Solid mechanical aptitude — able to troubleshoot equipment or pitch in when needed.</li>
<li>Track record of building and leading high-performing teams.</li>
<li>Comfortable balancing urgency with quality and safety.</li>
</ul>

 
Preferred Experience
<ul>
<li>Background in construction products, custom fabrication, or light manufacturing.</li>
<li>Experience implementing process improvements</li>
<li>Familiarity with custom job shop environments (not just mass production).</li>
