Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Work from drawings, diagrams, technical manuals, schematics and written and verbal instructions to perform troubleshooting and repair as required.</li>
<li>Have basic knowledge of most types of hand tools and meters</li>
<li>Calibrate production equipment and collect and file required data</li>
<li>Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate PM and calibration records</li>
<li>Revise PM and Calibration specifications as required to meet equipment support continuous improvements</li>
<li>Works with Engineering to resolve and correct more complex equipment issues and document corrective actions</li>
<li>Determines required equipment preventative maintenance and equipment calibration procedures and writes appropriate specifications</li>
<li>Identifies and implements equipment modifications to improve performance and reliability.</li>
<li>Works with Engineering and facilities to bring new equipment on line</li>
<li>Performs job duties with emphasis on safety and housekeeping.</li>
<li>May serve as a member on cross-functional project teams.</li>
<li>Understands work environment issues (i.e. OSHA regulations, etc.).</li>
<li>Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>ASEE Degree in Electronics/Electro or equivalent experience&nbsp;</li>
<li>&nbsp;Prior equipment support experience a plus&nbsp;</li>
<li>Ability to work independently or within a team&nbsp;</li>
<li>Good verbal and written communications&nbsp;</li>
<li>Proficient with the use of basic hand tools and meters&nbsp;</li>
<li>Proficient with Microsoft Office® software suite&nbsp;</li>
<li>Able to adapt to the changing needs of a high paced manufacturing environment&nbsp;</li>
<li>Good organizational and follow-up skills, as well as sharp attention to detail. &nbsp;</li>

Position Summary: Advanced Materials Engineer - Metallurgy
Location: Nashua, NH
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking an experienced Advanced Materials Engineer - Metallurgy. In this role, you will provide the lead in supporting the development of new products and processes, develop enabling plating and material technologies, perform failure analysis, and interface with suppliers and customers. The position will be located in Nashua, NH.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Develop new products and processes via mechanical testing, analytical methods and characterization of electrical connectors, cabling and components.</li>
<li>Collaborate with product designers in evaluating integrity of: plating systems, base materials, soldering, and welding.</li>
<li>Develop accelerated test methods to ensure reliability of plating and base materials.</li>
<li>Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes thru pilot production, as well as interfacing with customers</li>
<li>Support plating development in manufacturing including materials and processes for cable and connector products.</li>
<li>Perform failure analysis and recommend corrective actions.</li>
<li>Process and analyze testing results, and create reports and presentations for internal and external customers</li>
<li>Prepare test samples and test requests. </li>
<li>Research, evaluate and recommend materials to develop enabling technologies for future product development.</li>
<li>Develop test plans and design of experiments to support product development and qualification.</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS: 
<ul>
<li>Advanced degree in Material Science Engineering specializing in plating technology (MS with 3+ years experience or PhD is preferred)</li>
<li>Experience with plating, welding and soldering processes.</li>
<li>Experience with materials analysis (ie, SEM, microscopy, XRF, metallography, hardness, stress relaxation, creep and wear test methods)</li>
<li>Experience with solid modeling tools - Pro/E and or SolidWorks</li>
<li>Experience with data analysis software, including Design of Experiments</li>
<li>Ability to communicate with technical &amp; non-technical people</li>
<li>Ability to work in team environment</li>
<li>Ability to travel as needed to other Amphenol sites, suppliers and customers</li>
<li>Desire to create and design new products and processes</li>
<li>Basic understanding of electrical connectors</li>
