What we need&nbsp;
Symbotic is looking for a Robotics Applications Engineer to join our Perception team. You will play a hands-on role in the design and implementation of the next generation of perception software for our mobile robots. The qualified candidate will play a hands-on role helping to bring our robotics solutions to our customers. What you’ll do&nbsp;

<li>
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand technical and business requirements.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality robotics applications for internal users and external customers.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Develop and integrate solutions across various modules, including web-based dashboards, database, and robotics control.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Create, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans; identify and fix bugs while ensuring the integrity of the existing codebase.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Contribute to system-level software design, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Formulate, document, and maintain detailed requirements specifications.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Analyze requirements and develop innovative solutions or effective workarounds to meet project needs.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Identify potential project risks and proactively suggest and implement mitigation strategies.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Up to 10% travel may be required&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
What you’ll need&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>
Bachelor or master’s degree in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience with Python and/or C++.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Experience in database development using Kafka and Snowflake.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Experience in messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and/or ZeroMQ&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Hands-on experience with ROS, Docker and Linux environments.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Familiarity with robotics remote operation and control applications is a big plus&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Experience in developing web-based applications&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Experience with project management and collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Exposure to agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Familiarity with graphical user interfaces (GUI) development&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Knowledge of computer vision applications and libraries.&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
Our Environment&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>
Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.&nbsp;
</li>
