Summary/Primary Role:
This role will be assisting with the drilling operations for geothermal energy projects. You will work closely with the Geothermal Driller and other team members to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the drilling equipment, perform routine maintenance, and contribute to the overall success of our geothermal drilling efforts.
Principal Duties &amp; Responsibilities:

Work Hours: Day Shift, 8-hour workday; flexible start time
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, overtime available, and on-call rotation
Pay Rate: $28.00 to $38.00 + per hour. We pay based on experience and capabilities

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning Mechanic installs, services, and repairs environmental-control systems in office buildings and other industrial areas.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION
<ul>
<li>Operate engines, boilers, and auxiliary equipment</li>
<li>Read gauges, meters, and charts to track boiler operations</li>
<li>Monitor boiler water, chemical, and fuel levels</li>
<li>Activate valves to change the amount of water, air, and fuel in boilers</li>
<li>Fire coal furnaces or feed boilers, using gas feeds or oil pumps</li>
<li>Inspect equipment to ensure that is operating efficiently</li>
<li>Record data and keep logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activity</li>
<li>Start up, regulate, repair, and shut down equipment</li>
<li>Monitor meters, gauges, and computerized controls to ensure equipment operates safely and within established limits</li>
<li>Must be able to use sophisticated electrical and electronic test equipment when servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and monitoring heating, cooling, and ventilation systems</li>
<li>Regularly perform routine maintenance</li>
<li>Replace defective valves, gaskets, or bearings</li>
<li>Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring</li>

<li>May inject small amounts of refrigerant into compressor to test systems and add freon gas to build up operating pressure</li>

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

<li>EXPERIENCE: Three to five years' experience in HVAC equipment and controls maintenance. Repair in an industrial/commercial environment is preferred.</li>

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment, while generally hazard free, may include some exposure to dust and varying temperatures. This position may require the individual to work both inside and outside, sometimes in inclement weather conditions. May require lifting up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Constant walking and standing for extended periods of time may be required. Reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and balancing may be needed. Significant hand and finger dexterity is required, along with the ability to work in tight/confined spaces. In addition, the use of ladders may be required, which includes the ability to use/carry ladders, lift, and climb up to 30ft. in length.
 
WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT 
This position is full time (40 hours per week) and may include some shift work including Saturdays and Sundays. Ability to work overtime as needed.
