Responsibilities 
Direct Care &amp; Coordination of Services:

<li>Ensure the quality of support for adults with disabilities and/or brain injuries living in supervised residential settings with an emphasis on safety and well-being, provided in a manner that promotes growth, independence and dignity while supporting people to live a meaningful life in community, with opportunities for social engagement and skill building.</li>
<li>Maintain ongoing professional communication with supervisor, coworkers, BAMSI departments, and all stakeholders. </li>
<li>Support individuals served in the development of their person-centered Individual Support Plans (ISP) and implement plans. Monitor progress and ensure support to individuals served with achieving the goals and objectives outlined in service/support plans.</li>
<li>Ensure that Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) practices are applied within program, to create a thoughtful and supportive environment by ensuring activities, plans, and routines reflect the preferences, needs, and goals of individuals.</li>
<li>Organize activities and opportunities for meaningful engagement in the community, foster increased independence social networks, promoting physical health and wellness routines. </li>
<li>Follow the Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Medication Administration Program (MAP) policies, which include, but are not limited to training requirements, medication administration, medication security, and corresponding documentation including use in BAMSI’s Electronic Health Care Record.</li>
<li>Assist individuals as needed and required with personal care tasks, which include, but are not limited to toileting, showering/bathing, grooming, personal hygiene, assisting with mobility, repositioning, dressing, and range of motion exercises.</li>
<li>Support individuals as needed and required in the completion of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks, which include but are not limited to: cooking, cleaning, general maintenance, shopping and money management. </li>
<li>Ensure program coverage in accordance with funding source standards. </li>

Staff Management &amp; Development: 
<ol>
<li>Interview and hire prospective employees in conjunction with persons served and complete required hiring documentation. </li>
<li>Provide ongoing supervision, staff meetings, training and professional development of staff. </li>
<li>Attend BAMSI Leadership Meetings and Management Trainings with dissemination of acquired learning and materials at the program level. </li>

Quality Management: 
<ol>
<li>Promptly identify program areas of need and address them by working closely with the Facility Department, including by not limited to home and vehicle preventative and emergency maintenance.</li>
<li>Follow funder and agency protocol for reporting significant incidents and alleged abuse and/or neglect, Individual Support Plans (ISP), and Incident Reports. </li>
<li>Ensure appropriate use of program petty cash, gas cards, credit cards and funds belonging to individuals served; follow auditing protocols.</li>
<li>Ensure highest quality of safety standards and that infection control protocols are followed. </li>

Other:

<li>Provide 24 hour on-call, on a rotating basis, to ensure program oversight and access to resources. </li>

Qualifications:

Full-time and part-time staff base rate is $21.40 with additional compensation based on degree status and certification, or verifiable equivalent experience working with children with autism. Full-time staff are eligible for a $1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS after 60 days, with an additional $500 for full-time overnight staff. Relief staff earn $20.90/hour. We have an immediate need to fill OVERNIGHT shifts (11:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m.). Other shifts include: Saturdays and Sundays all shifts, weekday afternoons, evenings.
Position Requirements:

SUMMARY

Quality Assurance

<li>Comply with MAB and DDS policies/procedures and all applicable state laws. </li>
<li>Comply with all program policies with respect to documentation, communication, mandated reporting, and confidentiality. </li>
<li>Participate in the documentation and implementation of Individual Support Plans, Case Reviews and support strategies including attending ISP meetings. </li>
<li>Obtain Medication Administration Certification and dispense medications to participants per physician’s orders and in compliance with MAP. </li>

Person Centered Planning and Support

<li>Provide case management to participants, including communicating with other service providers, scheduling appointments and working with participants toward their ISP goals. </li>
<li>Advocate effectively for participants, ensuring that participants' choices, interests and needs are supported. </li>
<li>Support participants to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with friends and family members. </li>
<li>Assist participants with the maintenance, safety, appearance and cleanliness of the home. </li>
<li>Assist and instruct participants with all activities of daily living. </li>
<li>Facilitate weekly meetings with the participants to discuss needs, wants and desires. </li>

QUALIFICATIONS
Education 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least one-year supervisory experience required. </li>
</ul>
Competencies
<ul>
<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills that foster healthy relationships with MAB participants and employees. </li>
<li>Analytical reader/thinker who can understand and implement state regulations and various record keeping systems in both writing and on the computer. </li>
<li>Team player who can give and receive productive direction, use creative problem-solving strategies, and provide effective leadership while motivating participants and staff. </li>
<li>Comfort with computers and ability to learn new reporting software. </li>

Licensure, Certification, or Registration 
<ul>
<li>MAB will assist employee with obtaining required MAP Certification, CPR and First Aid certificates if applicant does not have them when hired </li>
<li>Valid MA driver’s license and ability to drive program vehicles and wheelchair vans to transport participants to appointments, day programs, recreational activities, etc. Must be able to drive for extended periods of time and on highways as needed. </li>
