Vermont Law and Graduate School (VLGS), a national leader in legal writing, environmental law, and restorative justice, invites applications for two Assistant /Associate Professors of Legal Writing. The positions are fully remote. Successful candidates must hold an ABA-accredited J.D. law degree. Applicants must also have legal work experience, demonstrated teaching experience, and proven research and writing ability. Experience with residential and/or online teaching is required. Junior and senior-level lateral candidates will be considered. The position starts July 2026; an earlier January 2026 start is possible.
 
Students at VLGS take three required legal writing courses. Legal Research and Writing and Legal Writing II span the first year. They offer students an immersive, structured introduction to systems of American Law, legal organization, objective and persuasive writing, and oral communication. VLGS has standardized the curriculum in Legal Research and Writing for all sections. Professors teaching Legal Writing II share common course outcomes but design curricula for their sections based on their own interests. The capstone course is Appellate Advocacy, in which students brief and argue a case currently pending before the United States Supreme Court. Professors in the program select a pending case based on their interest in the subject matter. 
 
Successful candidates will teach two sections of Legal Writing classes per semester in VLGS’s Online Hybrid Juris Doctor (OHJD) program. Sections typically have 20-25 students. 
 
In addition to teaching, successful candidates will collaborate with online and residential legal writing faculty and administrative staff to coordinate Department programs and initiatives. Under the leadership of the Director of Legal Writing, remote and residential legal writing faculty work closely to align the residential and online programs to meet common outcomes.

Becker &amp; Company is seeking skilled and experienced Field Investigators to join our team on an "as needed" basis. This role is perfect for a licensed investigator looking for flexible hours while providing expert investigative services. We investigate all types of insurance claims including workers' compensation, suspected fraud, liability and aimed at mitigating expenses for our clients and delivering high-quality results.
 
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive investigator to join our team. The ideal candidate will conduct a variety of investigations, including Surveillance and Special Investigations Unit (SIU) assignments, within an assigned geographical area. Surveillance assignments require the investigator to obtain videotape documentation of the subject and for SIU assignments the investigator must complete the assignment as per the instructions given by the case manager.
 
Key Responsibilities:

<li>Adhere to specific requirements of an assignment based upon the case manager's instructions</li>
<li>Review all case materials prior to conducting investigative activity</li>
<li>Complete video surveillance on identified individuals for the allotted amount of time and utilizes established investigative techniques to secure covert video footage</li>

Summary of Position:
Founded in 1976, MetroWest Legal Services provides free civil legal services to protect and advance the rights and the well-being of people living in poverty, people aged 60 years and older, people with disabilities, and otherwise disenfranchised individuals living in the communities we serve. Through its well-established Family Law Unit, MWLS provides legal assistance to survivors of domestic violence in their domestic relations matters. For this position, MWLS seeks an attorney to represent survivors in their complaints for divorce, child custody, paternity, and restraining order matters before the Probate and Family Court and local District Court. Responsibilities include:

<li>Represent survivors in domestic violence-related family law matters including divorce, custody, paternity, and protection order cases, at all levels of litigation including trials and the appellate process.</li>
<li>Maintain individual caseload of family law matters that will include full representation cases, as well as counsel and advice and brief service matters.</li>
<li>Provide culturally responsive and trauma informed services to all clients. </li>
<li>Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners and organizations also serving survivors and communities experiencing poverty.</li>
<li>Contribute to the development and distribution of program materials for the Family Law Unit.</li>
<li>Participate in statewide legal services coalition groups focused on issues related to domestic violence, family law and trauma-informed advocacy. </li>
<li>As needed, provide guidance on family and domestic violence-related law to advocates working in other substantive areas at MWLS. </li>
<li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in family law, orders of protection, and trial practice.</li>
<li>Maintain current client and case outcome notes, timekeeping, and other data in MWLS’ electronic case management system. </li>

Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Admitted to Massachusetts Bar in good standing or have comity to be admitted. </li>
<li>0-3 years of relevant work experience as a practicing family law attorney. Preference will be given to those who have experience working with survivors of domestic violence in a legal aid office or clinical program. </li>
<li>Spoken fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is strongly preferred. Language competencies will be tested during the interview process. </li>
<li>Prior experience interviewing and counseling survivors of trauma and abuse preferred.</li>
<li>Demonstrated commitment and/or experience working with individuals who may have experienced poverty, trauma or discrimination, or possess lived experience in these areas.</li>
<li>Commitment to race equity, anti-racism and economic justice in the workplace and in the provision of legal services.</li>
<li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team; flexible and adaptable. </li>
<li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and deadlines; ability to manage a large caseload in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Experience and comfort working with an electronic case management system and other technologies.</li>
