Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY 
The Road Service Technician repairs forklifts and various other equipment that W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. sells and services at customer locations. The equipment a Road Service Technician is expected to maintain and repair includes, but is not limited to; gas, diesel, propane and electric powered material handling equipment as well as aerial lift and manlift equipment. The Road Service Technician position reports directly to the Service Manager and operates under minimal supervision. This position coordinates with the Dispatch team to complete work orders in an organized and timely manner. The Road Service Technician works primarily on the road and operates out of a company vehicle. This position requires at least three to five years of mechanical experience working on equipment/machinery. Corrective and preventative forklift maintenance experience is highly desirable. POSITION SUMMARY
The Shop Service Technician repairs forklifts and various other equipment that W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. sells and services at an onsite W.D. Matthews shop location. The equipment that a Shop Service Technician is expected to maintain and repair includes, but is not limited to; gas, diesel, propane and electric powered material handling equipment as well as aerial lift and manlift equipment. The Shop Service Technician position reports directly to the Field Service Manager and operates with a technician team. The Shop Service Technician will coordinate with and work directly under the supervision of the Shop Service Manager to complete orders in an organized and timely manner. This position requires mechanical experience and interest and/or related skills. The Shop Service Technician must have basic mechanical and technical experience, preferably at least two years. Corrective and preventative forklift maintenance experience is very desirable, but candidates with other mechanical repair experience in a variety of areas is considered. General computer experience is needed to run diagnostic and other programs. In addition, Vocational Tech education with a focus in the automotive, equipment, or hydraulics is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

<li>Maintain, repair and inspect material handling and manlift equipment</li>
<li>Keep and maintain records, according to company practice, regarding all maintenance activities and other administrative actions</li>
<li>Respond to and resolve customer repair requests and complaints</li>
<li>Order and track parts ordered for a repair job</li>
<li>Occasional fabrication</li>
<li>Clean and wash equipment</li>
<li>Follow safety procedures such as isolating power sources and stored energy for safe maintenance and repair</li>
<li>Maintain a clean and organized workspace</li>

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Skill Requirements:
<ul>
<li>At least two years of mechanical repair or comparable service experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>
<li>Corrective and preventative forklift maintenance is preferred</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge of general maintenance requirements of various pieces of equipment</li>
<li>Ability to work and communicate effectively with staff and customers and ability to establish effective working relationships and customer relations</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills</li>
<li>Ability to adapt to changes quickly such as switching tasks or jobs with little or no notice</li>
<li>Proficient oral and written communications skills</li>
</ul>
Education Requirements:

About the Role
The Calibration Lead is responsible for managing and executing all calibration activities—both internal and external—to ensure all measurement instruments and test equipment consistently meet regulatory, customer, and quality system requirements.
This role combines hands-on technical calibration expertise with leadership in process control, data integrity, and compliance to international standards. The Calibration Lead acts as the technical authority for calibration methodologies, uncertainty analysis, and traceability systems, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement across all metrology functions.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, perform, and verify in-lab and on-site calibrations for electrical, mechanical, thermal, and pressure instruments, maintaining full traceability to NIST or equivalent standards.
Develop, validate, and optimize calibration procedures and uncertainty budgets using Fluke Editor and manufacturer specifications in alignment with ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540 requirements.
Manage Fluke MET/CAL, MET/TEAM, and the Fluke Customer Portal, ensuring accuracy, version control, and data integrity of calibration records.
Analyze calibration data for trends, measurement drift, and process capability; recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
Oversee and audit external calibration vendors, verifying certification accuracy, environmental conditions, and adherence to specified tolerances.
Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for calibration-related nonconformances.
Prepare detailed calibration performance reports, including KPI tracking, turnaround metrics, and equipment status summaries, using Crystal Reports and advanced Excel functions.
Support internal and external quality audits, presenting evidence of calibration traceability, procedure validation, and instrument control.
Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure instrumentation readiness and alignment with product testing requirements.
Manage procurement and asset tracking for calibration tools and services through JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP systems.
Lead training and mentoring of calibration technicians, developing technical competencies and promoting adherence to safety and quality practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, throughput, and customer satisfaction through data-driven process optimization.

Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field).
Experience:
3–5 years of hands-on experience in calibration, metrology, or test engineering, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory capacity (preferred).
Demonstrated proficiency in electrical and mechanical measurement principles, uncertainty analysis, and traceability systems.
Proven experience calibrating and troubleshooting a broad range of test and measurement equipment, including:
Multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, high-voltage probes, temperature sensors, transducers, environmental chambers, power supplies, andmultiproduct calibrators.
Technical Proficiency
Advanced user of Fluke MET/CAL, MET/TEAM, and Fluke Editor for automated calibration control and documentation.
Skilled in data analysis and reporting using Crystal Reports, Excel (macros, pivot tables), and Word.
Familiar with JD Edwards (JDE) or equivalent ERP systems for asset management and procurement.
Understanding of measurement uncertainty, calibration intervals, and equipment tolerance determination.
Proficient with Microsoft Teams and collaborative digital tools.
