Shared Health Agent Position
The Foothills Health District (FHD), which serves the lovely towns of Goshen, Westhampton, Whately, and Williamsburg, seeks qualified applicants for a full-time shared Health Agent position. This position includes full benefits, flexible work week options, and an opportunity to advance to a Health Director position.
Under the general supervision of the FHD Health Director and the FHD Boards of Health, this position performs field inspections and plan reviews to ensure compliance with and enforcement of the State Sanitary and Environmental Codes, and all other related federal, state, and town laws, bylaws, and regulations. Knowledge of septic system plans, siting, and inspections preferred.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental science, or a related discipline and one to three years of experience in an environmental and/or health-related field, along with experience conducting inspections including but not limited to food establishments, nuisance complaints, housing, pools, camps, and septic systems.
Registered Sanitarian or Registered Environmental Health Specialist or the ability to be academically qualified to take the certification within two years of appointment preferred. Soil Evaluator License and Title 5 Systems Inspector license preferred. Salary commensurate with experience and skill set.
