Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support communication needs at a high school located in Rindge, NH. This contract position spans the full school year and requires proficiency in American Sign Language to facilitate effective interaction between Deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, educators, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
  • Facilitate communication to promote equal access to educational content and social participation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, students, and support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
  • Assist in creating an inclusive learning environment for all students.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience.
  • Previous work in educational settings preferred.
