We currently have an opening for a 1st shift Quality Technician. Under little or no supervision, ideal candidate will perform a variety of functions related to all facets of the day-to-day operations within the Quality Assurance Department.

Applicant shall have a minimum of 3 years of advanced inspection experience in a Manufacturing / Machine Shop environment. Shall be able to demonstrate in interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Individuals shall be able to perform layout inspections using basic and advanced metrology equipment. Possess a basic understanding of CMM operations and the ability to read and generate reports. Ability to perform first-article inspections. Lead team members in root cause investigations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in MRB Process. Establish data and supporting documentation for MDR’s as defined by the Quality Engineer and/or Manager.
  • Help determine best measurement methods on 2D drawings with the assistance of the Quality Engineer and Engineering.
  • Assist Quality Engineer in Capability Studies by gathering and interpreting data.
  • Maintain Calibration System. Print out weekly reports for recall for the Inspectors to follow. Ensure all gauges are calibrated in the time frame allowed.
  • Assist Quality Engineer in developing and maintaining Quality Documentation:
    1. Incoming Inspection reports
    2. Quality Plans
    3. Calibration Records
    4. First Article Reports
  • Assist Quality Engineer in maintaining ECN/TDN records. Make sure files are maintained accordingly by updating all records and verifying drawings are to the latest revision.
  • Compile and evaluate all related data as required.
  • Support Savage Quality System with problem solving efforts.
  • Works closely with all other departments to facilitate the quality function.
  • Assist in the coordination of our Supplier Partnership Program. Support dock to stock efforts.
  • Must have the capability to perform cause and corrective actions.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • May perform all duties as outlined in Inspector A job description.
  • May train or instruct others how to perform this job and Inspector A, B and C jobs. May perform other related duties as assigned.
