Facilities Maintenance Technician – Boston, MA

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in maintaining a portfolio of commercial properties in the Boston area. This is a hands-on position working closely with our property management team and other professionals to ensure that building systems, common areas, and tenant spaces remain fully operational, clean, and safe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair duties across multiple trades, including:
  • Custodial work: cleaning, minor upkeep of common areas, and ensuring cleanliness standards are met.
  • Mechanical systems: basic troubleshooting and support for HVAC units and building equipment.
  • Electrical work: assisting with minor electrical issues.
  • Carpentry tasks: Patching and painting walls, adjusting door closers, and other minor carpentry issues as needed.
  • Plumbing maintenance: unclogging drains, fixing leaks, and assisting with fixture replacements.
  • Coordinate and support contractors and vendors on scheduled maintenance and special projects.
  • Monitor and inspect building systems and respond to service requests in a timely, professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate logs of completed tasks and report issues or project updates to the property management team.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with building codes and company standards.
  • On-call, be available for overtime or emergency response as required.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in building maintenance or facility operations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of general building systems and repair methods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or with a team.
  • Willingness to be on call and occasionally work outside of standard business hours.
