Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Summary:Thispositionis responsible forcontinuous observation of cardiac monitoring surveillanceincludingidentifying, interpreting, documenting, and reporting cardiac rhythms.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

Responsible for the continuous observation of patients’ cardiac rhythm being transmittedremotely tothe central monitoring station

Responsible for continuous interpretation of normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms and events

Responsible for recognizingand understandingthe significanceof alarms

Immediately communicateslife threateningchanges in cardiac rhythmsvia hospital emergency system

Compares and interpretscurrentrhythmwithpreviousmonitoringand communicateschangesas appropriate

Completesaccurateandtimelydocumentation ofrhythms, changes in rhythms and /or arrhythmias per policy

Assistsnursing personnel with troubleshooting and correcting equipment problems

Informsand coordinates equipment repairs with Biomedical Department

Maintains cleanliness of work area

Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction

Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement

Worksas scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy
What qualifications you will need:

Required:American Heart Association BLS;successful completion ofBasic Dysrhythmia Course;successfuldemonstration ofrhythm strip competencyand test

Preferred:Previousexperience or education of arrhythmia interpretation
