We are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our dynamic team in a remote role for Manchester, NH.

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver Specialized Instruction: Provide tailored educational services to students with visual impairments, focusing on areas such as braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and the use of assistive technology.

  • Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement IEPs that address the unique needs of each student.

  • Conduct Assessments: Perform functional vision assessments and learning media assessments to inform instructional strategies.

  • Provide Consultation: Offer guidance and support to general education teachers and staff on effective strategies for acmodating students with visual impairments.

  • Engage with Families: Maintain open munication with families to ensure they are informed and involved in their child's educational journey.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification in New Hampshire.

  • Education: Master's degree in Visual Impairment, Special Education with a focus on visual impairments, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting.

  • Skills: Proficiency in braille instruction, knowledge of assistive technology, and strong munication skills.
