Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity offers two Special Education teaching positions within an elementary school setting in Brockton, MA. Both roles provide essential support to students with diverse learning needs and involve active collaboration with general education staff and families.
Position 1: Grade 3 Inclusion Teacher
- Work closely with grade 3 teachers and a designated staff member to support student learning in an inclusive classroom.
- Manage a caseload of 10-15 students requiring special education services.
- Participate in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and attend related meetings.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:20 a.m. to 3:40 p.m., with reserved time Tuesday afternoons for meetings and professional development.
Position 2: K-2 Special Education Teacher for Cooperative Learning Classroom (CLC)
- Support students in a partially sub-separate classroom for Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
- Currently working with 2 students who split their time between the CLC and the inclusion classroom; caseload may grow during the school year.
- Collaborate with a classroom assistant and support a student who requires 1:1 assistance.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:20 a.m. to 3:40 p.m., with Tuesday afternoons dedicated to team meetings and trainings.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education certification.
- Experience serving elementary-aged students, preferably in inclusion and sub-separate settings.
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs and coordinate with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills.
