Duration: 12 months (Extension Possible)
Compensation Range: $97.00/hr W2

Job Description

Lead large, complex, multi-workstream IT initiatives aligned to university priorities. Own planning through delivery, drive stakeholder alignment (including executive sponsors), and ensure outcomes are on time, on scope, on budget with rigorous financial oversight and risk management.

What You'll Do

  • Build and run project plans (scope, timeline, budget, resources, milestones).

  • Track delivery, risks/issues, dependencies; implement mitigations and change control.

  • Serve as primary liaison across technical teams, business units, and exec sponsors.

  • Report status, KPIs, risks, and financials to governance and leadership.

  • Lead/mentor cross-functional teams (internal & vendors); enforce PMO standards.

  • Conduct post-implementation reviews; capture lessons learned and knowledge transfer.

  • Identify cost-optimization opportunities across portfolio.

Must Haves

  • 8–10 years progressive IT project management in matrixed environments.

  • Proven delivery across enterprise tech (CRM/ Salesforce, ERP, infra, data, cloud).

  • Executive-level stakeholder management; influence without direct authority.

  • Financial stewardship: budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, cost savings.

  • Bachelor's in CS, IS, Business, or related.

  • Expert with Waterfall/Agile/hybrid; tools: MS Project, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, Jira.

  • Outstanding communication & presentations for senior leadership.

Nice to Haves

  • PMP / Agile certification(s); Master's degree.

  • Higher-ed or public sector IT experience; organizational change leadership.

  • Data-driven planning/risk management; resource & budget planning at scale.

  • Digital transformation exposure and emerging tech awareness.
