Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Mechanic III - Technician
Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Company
Duration: 3 months with possible extension
Location: Waltham, MA 02453
Shift: 7 AM to 5 PM (Monday to Friday)
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or trade school equivalent work experience related to facilities and/or maintenance.
Experience:
- 3-5 years' work experience in a maintenance position.
- Experience working in a production manufacturing environment.
Skills:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively with all levels of employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Ability to work additional hours as warranted by projects.
- Available for on-call/after-hours services.
- Must be a strong problem solver.
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.

- Bend/Stoop/Kneel: 2 hrs/day
- Frequently Push/Pull: 50+ lbs

Responsibilities:
Purpose/Summary:
Maintains and repairs the facility's structure, equipment, and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Performs skilled trades work such as carpentry or painting for the construction, repair, or alteration of structures like walls, roofs, or office fixtures. Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring. Conducts inspections to determine necessary repairs and reports findings to the Facilities Supervisor. Assists the Director of Facilities and Security with administrative facility management tasks, such as purchase requisitions and vendor invoices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs minor repairs to plumbing fixtures, valves, and other devices.
- Performs minor painting and drywall repairs.
- Monitors contractor performance and works with vendors to ensure work meets specifications.
- Works from a work order system, including creating work orders.
- Performs basic maintenance on standard manufacturing equipment.
- Completes maintenance duties assigned by the Facilities Supervisor or Director of Facilities and Security.
- Performs basic HVAC repair on various rooftop units, Leiberts, and exhaust fans.
- Participates in the Corporate Continuous Improvement Program and EHS.
- Availability for occasional overtime and 24-hour on-call services.
- Experience with computers and software.
- Acts as a liaison between internal customers and third-party vendors.
- Maintains a basic understanding of the Building Maintenance System (BMS), Facility Ticketing system, and Security system (including cameras and access control).
Support Responsibilities for the Director of Facilities and Security:
- Assist in managing purchase requisitions and vendor invoice approvals.
- Coordinate facility-related third-party vendors (cleaning services, cafeteria supplies, plant maintenance, pest control, etc.), managing supply ordering processes.
- Support remodeling and construction projects as needed.
