Lead Electrical Assembly Technician

  • Location: Sudbury, MA
  • Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm
  • Pay Rate: $25–$30/hr
  • Job ID: bh17921

A growing manufacturing operation in Sudbury is seeking a Lead Electrical Assembly Technician to support and guide their electrical assembly team. This role requires hands-on electrical assembly experience—ideally within a machine or equipment manufacturing environment—along with proven leadership or supervisory experience overseeing assemblers or production staff.

About the Role

In this role, you'll perform bench-level electrical assembly while also serving as a working lead, providing direction, training, and support to other technicians. You’ll assemble switches, wiring, connectors, and electrical control devices while ensuring work meets quality standards and production deadlines. The ideal candidate is someone who excels in hands-on assembly and can confidently lead others in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical components such as switches, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and control devices
  • Interpret and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and detailed work instructions
  • Perform wiring tasks including cutting, stripping, crimping, routing, and securing wires and cables
  • Use hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, scissors, wire cutters, and knives to perform precise assembly work
  • Inspect and verify completed work for accuracy and function
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to assemblers, including guidance, workflow coordination, and quality oversight
  • Assist in training new team members on electrical assembly processes and best practices
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve assembly issues and improve workflow
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on electrical assembly experience (machine manufacturing or equipment assembly environment strongly preferred)
  • Required: Proven leadership or supervisory experience—lead tech, team lead, foreman, or similar
  • Strong proficiency working at a bench assembling electrical components
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Skilled in wiring tasks: cutting, stripping, routing, crimping, and terminating wires
  • High attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, organized, and committed to quality and safety
