Covered Bridge Montessori is looking for a Toddler/Preschool Lead or Associate Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a school year program that closely follows the school year calendar along with summers off to go to the lake & mountains!
We are licensed for 12 children. Start date will be August 19, 2025.
Duties
- Covered Bridge Montessori is a school for children 15 mos. to 4 years 11mos. of age. Covered Bridge Montessori follows a diaper free philosophy as children are learning to use the bathroom.
- Our philosophy is honoring the whole-child by encouraging children's independence, supporting child-centered/child-lead interests by selecting their own works in the classroom, providing an educational circle time, mentoring kindness, and empathy, meeting the social and developmental needs of children while respecting them for their abilities, along with bi-weekly units.
- You need to be able to communicate effectively and comfortably with other staff, children, and families. You will need to be a team player, as you will be working with someone who has years of Montessori experience at the Infant/Toddler level, along with following her lead.
- Observe, guide, supervise, and assess children while they engage in a self-directed learning environment.
- Maintain the prepared indoor/outdoor classroom environment as you teach within a multi-age setting.
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and aligned with the Montessori philosophy.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth. Maintain frequent communications with families through informal discussions, progress reports, and family-teacher conferences.
- Ensure all center policies and NH state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards as well as the safety and security of children.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
- Must have good handwriting skills and write a weekly/monthly newsletter (low technology school).
- Must attend a monthly staff meeting and on every other Friday change classroom for a new unit.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement and meet NH State requirements for continuing professional development (18 Hours- will pay for half of some PD).
- Must be able to follow a strict uniform policy
Experience
- You must pass a NH background fingerprint check.
- Must be CPR/1st aid Certified (will pay for half of training)
- Must have a current physical.
- Must have a NH Lead or Associate Child Care License
- CDA, Associate or bachelor’s in early childhood or in related field
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
