Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a SR Circuit Design/FPGA Engineer job in New Hampshire for our direct client. In this role, you will serve as a Sr. Member of Technical Staff Power Engineer responsible for electrical design of next-generation, high-reliability undersea products. You will design both analog and digital circuits—including microcontrollers, FPGAs, and electro-optic components—and collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure fault tolerance for undersea applications. This position also includes responsibility for developing and implementing verification and qualification plans, writing factory test procedures, and supporting the introduction of designs into manufacturing. The role reports to the Director of Lightwave Technology.

SR Circuit Design/FPGA Engineer job responsibilities:

• Conduct analog and digital circuit design and simulation
• Plan and execute qualification testing for new products
• Perform hands-on experimental work on prototype components, circuits, and assemblies
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers
• Write test plans and support manufacturing readiness for design launches
• Ensure alignment with company policies, procedures, and core values
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in circuit design and development
• Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering, data analysis, and programming
• Strong experimental, laboratory, and hands-on skills (including soldering and wiring)
• Ability to work independently, proactively address problems, and recommend actions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with optical fiber, fiber optic components, and optical measurement techniques
• Demonstrated track record of precision, attention to detail, and successful project execution
