Job Title: Mold Design Engineer
Location: Milford, New Hampshire
Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Salary: 90,000 – 115,000 / yr

Job Type: Direct Hire

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mold Design Engineer to join our team in Milford, NH. This role is responsible for developing and designing tooling and mold engineering processes that meet both internal standards and customer specifications. The Mold Design Engineer will contribute to customer quoting, tool development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities within the engineering and manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret customer quotes and tooling orders; assess whether additional information is needed to meet requirements

  • Design tooling to produce desired parts efficiently, safely, and with longevity

  • Create technically accurate tooling designs using CAD software

  • Generate comprehensive bills of materials (BOMs) for tool manufacturing

  • Develop and implement alternative solutions for damaged or unsafe tooling

  • Actively participate in tool and equipment try-outs to ensure compliance with design specifications

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during tool testing; ensure changes are properly documented

  • Investigate engineering change requests and maintain updated engineering configurations

  • Modify designs to meet specified performance, safety, and functional criteria

  • Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and customers to enhance the design process

  • Provide training and support to toolmakers on manufacturing procedures

  • Participate in training sessions, meetings, and seminars to stay current with industry developments

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education/experience

  • Proficient in 3D CAD software and the ability to create complex design data sets

  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications

  • Proven ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on internal and customer inputs

  • In-depth knowledge of industry tooling and mold design standards

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with tool try-outs and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting

Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
