Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Join an elementary school setting in Pittsfield, MA, as a full-time Special Education Teacher supporting students with significant disabilities. This contract position during the current school year focuses on delivering specialized and compassionate instruction to students in Sub Separate Classrooms across K-1st grade and 3rd-5th grade rooms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing specially designed instruction tailored to students with cognitive and physical disabilities
- Managing classroom needs for students requiring toileting support and other personal care
- Supporting learners on the autism spectrum, including some who are non-verbal
- Collaborating with Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) when applicable
- Developing and implementing applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to improve student outcomes
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school environment
- Knowledge of specially designed instruction strategies
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA) and positive behavior interventions
- Ability to work effectively with students who have severe and multiple disabilities
- Comfort in providing personal care assistance in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with support staff

- Onsite full-time position based in Pittsfield, MA
- Serving students within the public school systems special education classrooms
