Position Overview


You will be a member of the Service Engineering organization to develop the processes, procedures, training, checklists and guidelines for delivering preventative and corrective maintenance services on Battery Energy Storage Systems. You will work on the development of aftermarket products and services to complement Long Term Service Agreements.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver service training for internal and external personnel, including LG Energy Solution products and key supplier products.
  • Develop and maintain the service tools and fixtures required to perform preventative and corrective maintenance at all existing and planned sites.
  • Develop product repair and maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance checklists, troubleshooting guides, safety procedures and other service documentation.
  • Collaborate with LG Energy Solution product development to advise on Design for Serviceability.
  • Develop service procedures and best practices to support GWh scale Long Term Service Agreements.
  • Develop new aftermarket products and services to complement Long Term Service Agreements.
  • Perform time-studies for Preventative and Corrective Maintenance on BESS products.
  • Perform sustaining engineering activities for legacy products in service.
  • Support field service engineering escalations.

Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Excellent personnel management skills.
  • Experience with developing training material and procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of operation and maintenance of Battery Energy Storage Systems.
  • Ability to interface well with customers and team members in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using Office tools Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Desired (Not Required):

  • Working knowledge of communications protocols such as CAN, Modbus, TC/PIP, DNP3.
  • Familiarity with complex controls systems, Real-Time Operating Systems.
  • Engineering experience with energy storage and power conversion systems.
  • Knowledge or understanding of generation, transmission, and distribution in electric grid systems.
  • Structured problem-solving experience or Lean background.
  • Understanding of computer networks.

Education/Experience/Work Environment

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • If a remote employee, willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to engage directly with team members.
