🩺 Travel RN – Med Surg (Surgical Focus) | Nights | 13-Week Contract | Surgical Med-Surg Unit

Shift: Nights | 4:1 (Days) | 5:1 (Nights) RN Ratio

Are you a skilled Med Surg RN with strong post-op surgical experience? Join a high-acuity 32-bed Surgical Unit that manages complex cases including vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgeries. This unit treats diagnoses such as ARDS, esophagectomies, Whipples, and sepsis. Bring your expertise in tubes, drips, lines, and advanced post-surgical care to a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

🏥 Unit Highlights:

• Surgical Focus: Vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general post-op
• Patient Mix: ARDS, sepsis, complex wounds, trachs/laryngectomies
• Support: LNA ratio 1:7–11 (shared with PCU), experienced team
• Floating: Travelers expected to float as needed

🔧 Required Skills & Experience:

• 2+ years recent Med Surg experience with surgical focus
• Confident managing:
  • Chest tubes, central lines, drains
  • Drips: Diltiazem, Heparin, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone
  • Telemetry & complex wound care
  • Trachs/laryngectomies
• Comfortable with post-op protocols and rapid patient changes

🧾 Required Certifications:

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred
