Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A paraprofessional position is available to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student in a Life Skills classroom within a K-12 setting. This role focuses on assisting with daily activities to ensure the students safety, engagement, and participation throughout the school day.

Location:
Westfield, MA (specific school site address withheld)

Duration:
Contract through the current school year (CSY) with start as soon as possible until June 25, 2026

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 support for a student requiring life skills assistance
  • Assist with toileting needs, including dressing, diaper changing, and wiping
  • Escort student to and from the nurses office three times daily for nurse-administered g-tube feeding
  • Provide hand-over-hand assistance with assignments and classroom activities as needed
  • Support communication through various means including gestures and use of a communication board on an iPad
  • Maintain a safe and engaging environment that encourages student participation

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Additional qualifications required: associates degree, at least 48 college credits, or successful completion of formal paraprofessional assessments (ParaPro or WorkKeys)
  • Previous school-based paraprofessional experience is mandatory
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates preferred to assist with family communication (not required)

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, approximately 7:15 AM to 3:10 PM (3537.5 hours/week)

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a students educational and developmental experience. Candidates will participate in a 1530 minute interview conducted via Microsoft Teams.
