Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 special education teacher opportunity is available in Springfield, MA, on a contract basis for the uping school year (CSY). This role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs within the special education framework.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure integrated learning experiences
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in pliance with state and federal regulations
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and self-confidence
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development sessions
Qualifications/Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for K-12 grade levels
- Proven experience working with students requiring specialized educational support
- Knowledge of special education laws, assessment tools, and instructional strategies
- Strong munication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational teams
- Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learner needs and learning styles
