An elementary school in Cambridge, MA seeks experienced Special Education professionals to support inclusive learning environments for young students. These contract positions cover the uping school year and offer the opportunity to work collaboratively within a dedicated team focused on personalized student growth.
Grade 3 Inclusion Teacher:This role involves working alongside general education Grade 3 teachers and collaborating closely with a special education colleague. The teacher will maintain a caseload of 10-15 students, providing individualized instruction and participating actively in IEP meetings. The goal is to support inclusion by adapting lessons and acmodations to meet diverse learning needs.
K-2 Special Education Teacher Cooperative Learning Classroom (CLC):This position supports a partially sub-separate classroom serving Kindergarten through 2nd grade students. Currently, there are two students enrolled, with the possibility of the group growing during the school year. Students split their day between the CLC and inclusion classrooms. The classroom is staffed with an Assistant, and one student receives one-on-one support. This teacher will foster a nurturing, structured environment tailored to early learners with specialized support requirements.
Hours and Schedule for Both Positions:
- Monday through Friday, 8:20 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
- Tuesday afternoons reserved for meetings, trainings, and professional development
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience supporting inclusive classrooms and conducting IEP meetings
- Strong collaboration and munication skills for working with staff, families, and students
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs
- Passion for fostering academic and social-emotional growth in young learners
