Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift assignment requiring prior charge nurse and travel experience, with a VT or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Hospital setting with Med/Surg and telemetry patient population
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 with an average daily census of 22
- Night shifts are 12 hours, with every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- May be asked to float between Acute Rehab and Med/Surg units
- Backup Charge Nurse responsibilities may be required
- Uses Cerner EMR with experience preferred
- Travelers must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transportation
- Includes non-billable 8-hour orientation
- No block scheduling or schedule accommodations are permitted
- Candidates must clearly state all requested time off (up to 5 days) at the time of application
- Teamwork and leadership required in coordinating patient care and working with ancillary staff
- Strict call-off policy: after 3 call offs, the contract may be terminated
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Scrubs or dress code details not specified

- Active VT or compact RN license in hand
- BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Rehab experience required
- Previous charge RN experience required
- At least 3 months of prior travel nursing experience required
- BSN preferred
- Supervisory signed reference from the past two years required
- Local travelers (within 50 miles) are not eligible
