Role Overview
At Technosylva, were shaping the future of wildfire science and technology. Were looking for a Senior Technical Writer with a passion for enabling our customers to get the most of our products. You will lead the strategy and execution of how our customers, partners, and internal teams learn and succeed with our products.
In this role, youll be the architect of clear, engaging learning experiencesfrom technical documentation to online training courses. Youll collaborate across Product, Engineering, Science and Customer Success to create impactful content that makes complex tools intuitive and accessible.

Responsibilities
Learning Strategy:
- Design and implement a holistic content strategy that seamlessly connects documentation, tutorials, and Campus coursework.
- Create learning pathways tailored to different user personasfrom field operators to data scientists.
- Establish content standards and style guides that ensure consistency across all materials.
- Develop metrics to measure content effectiveness and user success.
Product Documentation:
- Lead a comprehensive refresh of existing technical documentation to improve accuracy, usability, and alignment with current product capabilities.
- Create and maintain documentation for new features and product enhancements in a timely, release-aligned manner.
- Develop user-centric tutorials, walkthroughs, quick-start guides, and multimedia (e.g., screenshots, diagrams, videos).
- Write and maintain configuration and integration guides for various deployment environments and third-party systems.
- Draft product release notes in collaboration with Product, Customer Success, and Engineering teams.
Training & Curriculum:
- Contribute content to Technosylva Campus, our learning and training platform.
- Partner with internal teams and clients to gather feedback and continually improve learning experiences.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, Instructional Designer, or related role, ideally in the software or geospatial domain.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to make complex concepts easy to understand.
- Proven experience creating structured documentation, multimedia tutorials, and training materials.
- Familiarity with documentation tools and platforms.
- Experience working with eLearning platforms (LMS) and multimedia editing tools.
- Understanding of version control systems and agile product development cycles.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with geospatial technologies (GIS), fire modeling, or emergency management systems.
- Background in instructional design or adult education theory.
- Knowledge of API documentation and developer-focused content.
