Job DescriptionDescription:

Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services is seeking a qualified Hospice nurse to work weekends making home or facility visits caring for terminally ill patients. This position covers Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm, working a total of 24 hours, and is paid for 30 hours; this is considered full time and is eligible for all agency benefits. This position covers the Keene, Peterborough and Charlestown, NH service areas.

Requirements:

As an RN with HCS Responsibilities are:

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the practice of professional nursing in a manner consistent with the NH State Nurse Practice Act and American Nurses Association Standards for Home Health Nursing.
  • Consistently demonstrates competency with technical nursing skills according to personal and legal scope of practice.
  • Implements teaching appropriate to the client’s needs and within the context of his or her environment and value system.
  • Practices nursing with respect for individual, cultural, and spiritual differences.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and effective communication to accomplish client, team, and agency goals.
  • Uses the Code of Ethics established by the American Nurses Association to maintain confidentiality, advocate for the client, and identify ethical conflicts.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a State licensed basic nursing program.
  • Two (2) years of professional nursing experience, home health or hospice experience preferred.
  • Possession of a current State of New Hampshire license to practice as a registered professional nurse. Maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Valid driver’s license. Access to an automobile during working hours that meets the State of New Hampshire registration regulations and have auto liability insurance.
  • Knowledge of measures to comfort the dying. Emotional stability, flexibility, and respect for various religions and spiritual beliefs.
  • Hospice/Palliative Care and/or Oncology Certified, or demonstrate willingness to obtain certification.
