Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school in South Hadley, MA, is seeking a dedicated Adjustment Counselor for the current school year contract. This role focuses on supporting students' social and emotional well-being, helping them navigate challenges and build resilience throughout their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to K-12 students to address behavioral, emotional, and adjustment issues.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement strategies that support student success.
- Conduct assessments and gather detailed data to inform interventions and track student progress.
- Be available onsite to respond promptly to student needs and assist with situations requiring immediate support.
- Facilitate munication between students, staff, and families to promote a positive school climate.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional experience as a school counselor or adjustment counselor, with a strong understanding of K-12 student development.
- Ability to gather and analyze data related to student behavior and social-emotional concerns.
- Skilled in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Strong interpersonal munication and collaboration skills.
- Flexibility to work onsite and handle varied behavioral situations effectively.
