Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in an elementary school setting in Pittsfield, MA. This role involves providing specialized instruction to students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities in self-contained classrooms across kindergarten to fifth grade.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specially designed instruction tailored to meet individual student needs
- Providing direct support for toileting and daily living activities
- Collaborating with RBT staff to implement applied behavior analysis strategies
- Managing classrooms with students who may be on the autism spectrum or non-verbal
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of student progress and accommodations
Qualifications:
- Experience working with severe special needs populations, preferably in a school classroom setting
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis techniques and ability to implement behavior plans
- Comfort and skill in assisting with toileting and personal care
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Certification or licensure in special education preferred
