Assistant Town Clerk
TOWN OF VERSHIRE The Town of Vershire is seeking applicants for Assistant Town Clerk. This is a part-time (16-24 hours a week) position working under the direction of the Town Clerk. Duties: Responsible administrative work in assisting the Town Clerk keeping official municipal records, processing and issuing and official documents, vital statistics, conduction of elections, posting meetings and in providing information to the general public and town departments, and all other related work as required. The Assistant also assists the Town Clerk with statutory duties and responsibilities in accordance with Vermont General Laws, Town Ordinances/bylaws and regulation, and may assume the powers and duties in the absence of the Town Clerk. Recommended Qualifications: Associates Degree; three to five years of experience in responsible clerical or administrative work preferably in the public sector; experience with elections; strong customer service background; or any equivalent combination of education and experience will be preferred. Starting Wage: Wage will be commensurate with applicant's skill and experience.
