Position Title: Superintendent- Civil Highway
Location: Falmouth, MA / Martha’s Vineyard
Salary: $130,000 / Annually
Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Start Date: ASAP

Travel: Must commute to Martha’s Vineyard (company provides cars and lodging)

Position Overview
As a Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing civil construction projects from start to finish. You will oversee field operations, ensure project safety and quality, manage scheduling, and act as the key liaison between project management and field teams. This role is highly visible and critical to project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day field operations for highway, road, and site construction projects
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to company standards
- Interpret blueprints, construction plans, and contracts to guide execution
- Lead and direct all aspects of job site management, including safety, productivity, and quality
- Enforce project standards and safety compliance on all work sites
- Coordinate with project managers on scheduling, budgeting, and procurement
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms
- Review project documentation and assist in planning and resource allocation
- Solve on-site issues proactively, ensuring minimal disruption to schedules
- Maintain open communication with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold company values of teamwork and accountability
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (highway, road, or site work)
- Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in road construction
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and contracts
- General understanding of construction survey terminology
- Hands-on experience with GPS survey equipment and GPS machine control
- Proven leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check (CORI)
- OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR certifications (or ability to obtain)
