The Pharmacy Technician I would be working for a Fortune 500 company and has career growth potential. This would be full-time / 40+ hours per week.

Pharmacy Technician I Compensation

  • The pay for this position is $20.00 per hour
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Pharmacy Technician I Highlights

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • Training Dates: 10/12/2025–12/01/2025, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST
  • Work Schedule: Standard 8-hour shifts assigned based on business needs after training; includes two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch
  • No preference on candidate time zone

Pharmacy Technician I Responsibilities

  • Handle high-volume inbound calls from members, providers, and healthcare professionals
  • Provide exceptional customer service while guiding callers through the prior authorization process
  • Review clinical documentation for completeness and eligibility based on established criteria
  • Accurately document all approvals and denials in a timely manner
  • Escalate clinical judgment calls and complex inquiries to the pharmacist
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal protocols

Pharmacy Technician I Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician in an administrative support or call center role
  • National Pharmacy Certification required (state certification not required)
  • Eligible for state registration, certification, or licensure as required by state regulations
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume customer service or healthcare call center environment
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED
  • Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with prior authorization processes
  • Familiarity with pharmacy benefit management (PBM) environments
