The entry-level irrigation laborer will play a critical role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties. Key Responsibilities:

1.Site Preparation & Setup:

  • Assist in preparing job sites by clearing debris, marking out areas for irrigation lines, and setting up tools and equipment.
  • Help with the layout of marking of irrigation systems based on the project plans and design specifications.

2.Installation & Assembly:

  • Assist in the installation of irrigation systems including laying out pipes, installing sprinklers, valves, and controllers.
  • Learn to read blueprints and schematic diagrams to accurately install system components.
  • Work collaboratively with the installation team to ensure quality and precision in system setup.

3.Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Participate in routine inspections and maintenance of irrigation systems.
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues, such as leaks or blockages, and perform basic repairs under supervision.
  • Keep records of maintenance activities and report system performance issues to senior technicians.

4.Equipment & Tool Management:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and store tools and equipment appropriately.
  • Follow proper safety protocols when handling machinery and specialized tools.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or damages to supervisors promptly.

5.Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to all company safety policies, local regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that all work is conducted safely.
  • Participate in regular safety training and meetings to stay updated on evolving safety protocols.

Qualifications:

1.Education

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred

2.Experience

  • No prior experience is necessary for entry-level candidates; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Previous work in a physically demanding environment or construction is advantageous but not mandatory.

3.Certifications (Not Required):

  • DOT medical card
  • OSHA safety training
  • Hoisting license

Skills and Competencies:

  • Familiarity with hand and power tools, and willingness to learn specialized equipment usage.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, operating machinery, and working in varying outdoor weather conditions.
  • Endurance to stand, walk, and work in uneven terrain for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Willingness to listen, learn, and ask questions when in doubt.
