Position Summary

The Quality Control Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our products by identifying defects or deviations from specification during production. We are specifically seeking candidates with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on quality control experience-5 years preferred-ideally within a manufacturing or firearms-related environment.

This is not an entry-level role. It requires a seasoned professional with a sharp eye for detail, experience with documentation and inspection processes, and the ability to work independently in a high-performance setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and approve incoming materials and products by confirming specifications.

  • Conduct visual and measurement tests; reject and return unacceptable materials.

  • Prepare detailed documentation of inspection processes, including reports and performance records.

  • Notify supervisors immediately when defects are discovered.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following established standards and procedures.

  • Cross-train in Production areas as needed to support operational flexibility.

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: Hourly rate will be established on applicant qualifications and experience.

  • Weekend Differential: Additional 10% of hourly wage for all hours worked Friday through Sunday

  • Pay Frequency: Biweekly

Schedule & Work Structure

  • Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (Friday - Sunday)

  • Overtime: Paid after 36 hours per week

  • Compensation Plan: Although you will work 36 hours per week, compensation is structured to reflect a traditional 40-hour workweek if the minimum 36-hour threshold is met-providing consistent and fair pay.

Weekend Shift Transition Plan

  • Initial 2 Weeks - Day Shift: Begin with two weeks of onboarding and training on our day shift.

  • Permanent Weekend Shift: After the initial training period, you will transition to the weekend shift (Friday-Sunday, 12-hour shifts).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Background in firearms or manufacturing is required

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct quality control experience is required; 5+ years is strongly preferred

  • Associate degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required

  • Strong understanding of quality control standards, inspection methods, and regulatory compliance

  • Proven ability to write, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in basic math and computer systems (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc.)

  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset and thorough documentation skills

  • Demonstrated hand-eye coordination and accuracy in reporting

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to lift heavy materials and machinery as part of inspection responsibilities

  • Work performed in a standard manufacturing environment
