Through a partnership with Boston Public Schools, it operates four high-performing community-based UPK classrooms. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Teacher, Substitute, and/or Volunteer have the responsibility of working closely with the Teacher and assisting them with various tasks relating to supervision of the children, classroom activity, bathroom monitoring, and activity clean-up.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist Teacher(s) in providing appropriate early childhood educational experiences for children in art, music, literature, etc.;
· Assist in the arrangement and upkeep of the classroom and all equipment and materials;
· Assist in supervising all activities to always ensure the safety of children;
· Assist in breakfast, lunch, snack, and nap time activities
· Assist on field trips;
· Meet with supervisor monthly, or as determined by supervisor
· Participate/attend monthly staff meetings/workshops
· Able to move from different classrooms as coverage is needed
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be at least 18 years old;
· Must have at least a High School Diploma or GED
· Prefer at least one-year classroom experience, preferably in a daycare setting;
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
· Demonstrated ability to practice effective time management, organizational skills, priority management, and analytical ability required;
· Good role model;
· Sound personal judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness are required
· Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
