Regional Epidemiologist/Health Promotion Specialist

Salary range: $72,883 - $82,463
The Metro Public Health Collaborative — serving Brookline, Arlington, Belmont, and Newton — is seeking a Regional Epidemiologist / Health Promotion Specialist to advance community health and well-being across our partner municipalities. This is an exciting opportunity to combine epidemiology, data analysis, and health promotion in a collaborative, multi-community setting.
As a member of our regional public health team, you will play a key role in monitoring health trends, investigating disease outbreaks, and evaluating programs that address priority issues such as infectious disease, substance misuse, violence prevention, and chronic disease. You will also help translate data into actionable strategies and community outreach efforts that make a real difference in residents’ lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct disease surveillance, data analysis, and health assessments.
- Develop reports, presentations, and health communications for officials and the public.
- Support and evaluate programs addressing infectious disease, substance misuse, violence prevention, and other health priorities.
- Collaborate with local health departments, agencies, and stakeholders to implement effective health promotion strategies.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, or a closely related field, and 3–5 years of professional experience in epidemiology and/or health promotion; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have demonstrated skills in data analysis, interpretation, and visualization. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to diverse audiences.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and ability to travel locally among partner communities.
