Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacist in Charge in the Boston, MA area with a contract-to-hire arrangement expected to begin promptly. This role demands a strong professional to oversee pharmacy operations with a focus on compliance, staff guidance, and efficient medication management.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring pharmacy compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Managing daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care services.
- Maintaining accurate records of all pharmacy transactions, including controlled substance dispensing and inventory management.
- Developing and implementing policies to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Providing leadership and support to pharmacists, technicians, and other pharmacy personnel.
- Conducting performance evaluations and delivering ongoing training to maintain high-quality service.
- Collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication-related issues.
- Handling customer inquiries and ensuring excellent service.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes impacting pharmacy practice.
- Leading quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational and patient care outcomes.
- Performing audits and inspections to uphold compliance and safety standards.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment with proper infection control.
Shift details:
- Primarily Monday to Friday, day shift with occasional evening and weekend coverage as needed.
Required qualifications:
- Massachusetts Pharmacist license (clear and active).
- 2-4+ years of experience in long-term care (LTC).
- Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably in long-term care settings.
