Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers to support elementary students in North Adams, MA. This full-time, contract assignment involves working within separate classrooms serving K-1st and 3rd-5th grade students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing specially designed instruction tailored to individual student needs.
- Supporting students with severe challenges, including toileting assistance and communication support for non-verbal learners.
- Collaborating with Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who may assist in the classroom.
- Implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to promote positive behaviors and learning outcomes.
- Managing caseloads in a supportive and structured classroom environment.
- Committing to onsite work within an elementary school setting.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher.
- Proven experience with specially designed instruction for students with significant disabilities.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and behavior support strategies.
- Ability to work effectively with students on the autism spectrum and those requiring toileting support.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with support staff and families.
