Description:
Assignment Length: 6 months-year.
Shifts would be only for L&D covering combination of nights, days and weekends.
Provider must be experienced in GYN along with OB. The client also prefers physicians who are experienced and able to perform circumcisions, but this is only preferred, not required.
Minimum qualifications:
• Applicants must possess an MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and have or be eligible to obtain a Massachusetts Medical License
• Applicants must be board certified or be an active candidate for board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Demonstrated commitment to obstetrics education, health equity, and quality improvement
• Fluency in Spanish, or languages other than English, is highly desirable but not required
Clinical Responsibilities:
1. Labor and Delivery Management: Oversee and manage the care of patients in labor, including monitoring, pain management, and delivery assistance.
2. Emergency Obstetric Care: Provide immediate response and treatment for obstetric emergencies.
3. Vaginal and Cesarean Deliveries: Perform deliveries, including cesarean sections, as needed.
4. Postpartum Care: Monitor and manage patients during the postpartum period while hospitalized.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and high-quality patient care.
6. Consultation: Provide consultative services for midwives and family medicine providers when obstetric expertise is required.
Administrative Responsibilities:
1. Hospital Coverage: Provide in-house hospital coverage through scheduled shifts to ensure continuous care for obstetric patients.
2. Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including progress notes, delivery records, postpartum assessments, and discharge summaries.
Education and Leadership:
1. Mentorship: Mentor and educate medical students, residents, and fellows in obstetric care and procedures.
2. Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with shared decision-making about their care plans.
3. Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest advancements in obstetrics and participate in relevant continuing medical education.
