About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician - Carpentry Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of properties within the South Coast Landing community. This position focuses on performing skilled carpentry work to maintain, repair, and improve residential and commercial buildings managed by our real estate development and management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing issues, executing precise carpentry repairs, and collaborating with other maintenance professionals to uphold high standards of property upkeep. This role directly contributes to tenant satisfaction and the overall value preservation of our real estate assets. The Maintenance Technician will also support preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of building components.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a carpenter or maintenance technician with a focus on carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the South Coast Landing site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or apprenticeship completion in carpentry or a related trade.
- Experience working in real estate property maintenance or facility management.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Basic skills in plumbing or electrical maintenance to support multi-disciplinary repairs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and emergency carpentry repairs including framing, cabinetry, door and window installation, and trim work.
- Inspect and assess structural elements to identify maintenance needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with property management and other maintenance staff to prioritize and schedule repair work efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while using tools and equipment.
Preferred Skills:
- The required carpentry skills are applied daily to perform precise repairs and installations that maintain the safety and appearance of properties.
- Familiarity with tools ensures efficient and safe handling of equipment during maintenance activities.
- Preferred skills such as knowledge of building codes and additional trades like plumbing or electrical work enhance the technician’s ability to address a wider range of maintenance issues, improving overall property management.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills facilitate effective coordination with property managers and other maintenance staff, ensuring timely and high-quality service delivery.
