We are partnering with a dynamic, fast-growing startup in the healthcare tech space that is revolutionizing lab testing integrations and workflows. Their platform streamlines processes between providers, labs, and patients, leveraging cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and modern backend tools to deliver scalable and secure solutions. They are seeking an AWS Infrastructure Engineer who specializes in cloud architecture but also thrives in a hybrid role involving backend development.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on with AWS infrastructure, tackling complex challenges, and building innovative systems within a highly collaborative small-team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, etc.).
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
- Collaborate with backend developers to build and maintain FastAPI services.
- Create and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform or AWS CDK preferred).
- Ensure observability, scalability, and security of services.
- Participate in incident response and handle logging and monitoring setups.
- Assist in building HIPAA-compliant and secure deployment workflows.
Tech Stack:
- Cloud: AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, API Gateway)
- DevOps: Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform/CDK
- Languages: Python 3.10+, Bash
- Frameworks: FastAPI, boto3, AWS Lambda
- Data: PostgreSQL, Redis
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience managing AWS infrastructure in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services like ECS, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway.
- Proficiency in Python and FastAPI, particularly in Lambda or microservices contexts.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions preferred).
- Solid understanding of security, IAM, and network architecture in AWS.
- Ability to collaborate with developers and contribute to backend features when required.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in HIPAA-compliant or highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Temporal or other workflow orchestration tools.
- Exposure to HL7, FHIR, or other healthcare data standards.
- Django experience (for legacy support).
- Experience with monitoring/alerting tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus.
