Job Description

We are partnering with a dynamic, fast-growing startup in the healthcare tech space that is revolutionizing lab testing integrations and workflows. Their platform streamlines processes between providers, labs, and patients, leveraging cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and modern backend tools to deliver scalable and secure solutions. They are seeking an AWS Infrastructure Engineer who specializes in cloud architecture but also thrives in a hybrid role involving backend development.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on with AWS infrastructure, tackling complex challenges, and building innovative systems within a highly collaborative small-team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, etc.).
  • Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
  • Collaborate with backend developers to build and maintain FastAPI services.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform or AWS CDK preferred).
  • Ensure observability, scalability, and security of services.
  • Participate in incident response and handle logging and monitoring setups.
  • Assist in building HIPAA-compliant and secure deployment workflows.

Tech Stack:

  • Cloud: AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, API Gateway)
  • DevOps: Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform/CDK
  • Languages: Python 3.10+, Bash
  • Frameworks: FastAPI, boto3, AWS Lambda
  • Data: PostgreSQL, Redis

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience managing AWS infrastructure in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services like ECS, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway.
  • Proficiency in Python and FastAPI, particularly in Lambda or microservices contexts.
  • Experience with Docker and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions preferred).
  • Solid understanding of security, IAM, and network architecture in AWS.
  • Ability to collaborate with developers and contribute to backend features when required.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in HIPAA-compliant or highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with Temporal or other workflow orchestration tools.
  • Exposure to HL7, FHIR, or other healthcare data standards.
  • Django experience (for legacy support).
  • Experience with monitoring/alerting tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus.

Why Apply?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team building a scalable healthcare interface platform at the forefront of tech innovation. This startup environment provides the unique chance to work in a small, collaborative team where your contributions truly make a difference.

Note: This is a hybrid role based in New Bedford, MA, requiring a minimum of 3 days a week on-site.
