Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to develop competency in and perform basic assembly and/or inspection operations at Electrochem Solutions, an Ultralife Company. The incumbent is expected to follow written procedures to meet production and quality requirements.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

1. Sets up equipment needed for assembly/inspection as per Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI’s) and Quality Work Instructions (QWI’s).

2. Understands own tasks and how they relate to others on their team. Works under close Supervision where duties are clearly defined. Will follow Standard Work where applicable.

3. Assembles component parts as per print. Utilizes both manual and automatic machine operation.

4. Visually and/or dimensionally inspects parts and/or completed assemblies for conformance to specifications. Identifies and escalates quality non-conformances.

5. Completes required Device History Records and other manufacturing documentation per Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

6. May package assemblies for shipment.

7. Participates in team activities focusing on process/product improvement, problem resolution, and customer satisfaction.

8. Expands skill base through on-the-job training, cross training and classroom instruction.

9. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

10. Actively participates in “flex break” programs as required.

11. Performs other functions as required.

Education & Experience:

Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Minimum Experience: A minimum of 2 years related work experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.


Knowledge & Skills:

Special Skills: Ability to read in English, comprehend and follow detailed instructions. Ability to read blueprints preferred. Familiarity with microscopes and measuring devices preferred. Previous light assembly experience preferred.


Physical Requirements:

- Continuous sitting or standing/walking for majority of the workday, depending on operation.

- Frequent use of hand coordination.

- Occasional to frequent use of arms to reach.

- Some operations require the frequent use of a foot pedal.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 35lbs.

- Ability to work within Cathode department; dust/air quality and/or subject to elevated temperature environment.

- Ability to work within Dry Room; exposure to changes in temperature and humidity
