Summary
Starksboro Cooperative Preschool (SCP) is seeking a caring, flexible, and reliableFloat Teacherto join our early childhood team. The Float Teacher supports both our preschool and older toddler classrooms, helping provide consistent, nurturing care and engaging learning experiences for children ages 2–5.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively in a play-based, nature-centered program, and values the relationships that make early education so meaningful.

We believe children learn best through play, curiosity, and connection with nature. Our newly renovated school features bright, engaging classrooms surrounded by fields and forest.
We are aparent-cooperative program, meaning families and educators work together to run our program and create a nurturing, supportive, and inclusive environment for young children.
Duties
- Support classroom teachers with daily routines, activities, and transitions
- Provide coverage during planning time, staff breaks, and meetings
- Foster a warm, safe, and inclusive environment for all children
- Engage in play, conversation, and exploration with children indoors and outdoors
- Model positive communication, problem-solving, and teamwork
- Follow all licensing and program policies
Requirements
- Experience working with young children in an early childhood setting preferred
- Knowledge of child development and play-based learning practices
- Flexibility, reliability, and a collaborative spirit
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must clear full background check, including fingerprinting
- MeetsVermont Child Care Licensingrequirements for a Teacher Associate or Teaching Assistant
