We’re looking for a self-motivated IT Helpdesk Technician who’s ready to take on a leadership role while staying hands-on with technical support and networking projects.
Position Overview:
This is a hybrid role combining day-to-day helpdesk support, client relationship management, and on-site networking work. You’ll serve as the go-to technician for Tier I–III support while also managing ticket workflows and escalating as needed. You’ll occasionally visit client sites around Boston for networking installs, hardware troubleshooting, and Wi-Fi optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide remote and on-site IT support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and business applications
Set up and manage Windows environments, Active Directory, Office 365, and networked systems
Perform routine maintenance, patching, monitoring, and backups
Configure and install firewalls, routers, switches, and other networking equipment
Act as a point of contact for client IT requests, ensuring timely follow-ups and ticket resolution
Help manage and improve internal documentation, ticketing workflows, and service delivery processes
Collaborate with leadership on strategic improvements to service offerings and operations
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role (MSP experience is a plus)
Working knowledge of networking (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
Comfortable with remote tools like RMM platforms and PSA/ticketing systems
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Willingness to travel to client sites across Boston and surrounding areas when needed (typically 1–2 times per week)
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred:
Experience managing junior technicians or overseeing service workflows
Certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, Microsoft, or Cisco are a plus
