Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This role offers an opportunity to serve as an Adjustment Counselor within a K-12 school setting, supporting students' social and emotional development throughout the academic year. The position is located in Greenfield, MA, and is designed as a contract assignment for the current school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and staff to develop strategies that promote positive student adjustment.
- Helping students build coping skills, resolve conflicts, and improve interpersonal relationships.
- Gathering detailed data and documentation related to student progress and interventions.
- Being available onsite to engage directly with students and staff, with flexibility to adapt to virtual supports if necessary.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience as a school counselor or adjustment counselor in K-12 environments.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and related counseling techniques.
- Ability to effectively gather and maintain accurate student data and records.
- Excellent munication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration among educators, families, and students.
- Flexibility to adjust between onsite and virtual counseling modalities as the situation demands.
