Job Title: Optical Manufacturing Technician
Location: Ayer, MA
Department: Manufacturing
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Pay rate: $20-$25/HR
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with overtime as required (including occasional Saturdays)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Optical Manufacturing Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the inspection, cleaning, gluing, measuring (both optical and mechanical), and packaging of optical components throughout various stages of the manufacturing process. The role also involves operating machinery, performing light maintenance, and accurately documenting all process results.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle and process glass substrates according to written procedures

Perform mechanical measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other gauges

Conduct optical measurements using industry-standard and product-specific test equipment

Accurately document all measurements and inspection results

Operate machinery as required in the manufacturing process

Perform light maintenance and basic calibration on equipment

Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Adhere to all safety regulations and standard operating procedures

Collaborate with team members to meet production goals

Support additional manufacturing tasks as assigned

Work overtime when required
Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or GED preferred
-
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Familiarity with photoresist processing is a plus

Ability to read and write in English

Basic math and computer skills (including spreadsheets)

Ability to follow instructions and established standards

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Task- and results-oriented with the ability to multitask

Effective communication and teamwork skills

Comfortable standing for extended periods

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Standing, walking, and manual dexterity required throughout the workday
Pay Details: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour
