Summary
We are in search of a Lead Teacher for our One's/Two's classroom. We are a 5 STARS, high quality program in Bennington, VT. We have an emergent curriculum educational philosophy. Play is a big part of our day, with a lot of movement and outdoor time. A love of children's music and literature is a must!
Duties
The lead teacher is responsible for overseeing a classroom of children. This includes creating and carrying out lesson plans, writing a weekly newsletter, maintaining classroom records (attendance, daily health check, emergency forms, etc.), holding parent/teacher conferences twice per year, writing conference reports, collaborating with and supervising other staff, and maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree preferred, state mandated reporter training, state orientation training (within 1 month of hire), CPR First Aid certification (within 2 months of hire), medication administration training (within 6 months of hire), and Basic Specialized Care training (within 1 year of hire). Required to complete at least 15 hours of professional development each year.
Nice To Haves
Vermont State Teacher's License with an Early Childhood Education endorsement or Early Childhood Special Education endorsement
