About the Role:

Aquila is seeking a Classified Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The Classified Systems Administrator will perform hands-on tactical tasks a specific program and for the flight facility/hangar networks.

There are a few requirements for the position:

  • Must be a U.S Citizen- Must have an Active Secret Clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
  • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
  • Must be within 100 miles of worksite (Lexington, MA)

Must Have

  • Certification: CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Clearance Level: Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)
  • 7 years - Networks
  • 7 years - Networking Applications and Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SSH, FTP and HTTP/S.
  • 7 years - Networking experience (routers/switches/firewalls/servers)
  • 7 years - Troubleshoot and Resolve Complex Networking Issues
  • 7 years - Programming
  • 7 years - Scripting Experience: Python, Ansible, TCL or Bash
  • 7 years - Configure and Maintain a Number of Linux Systems Utilizing Scripting Languages and Automation Tools
  • 7 years - Hardware: Intel/AMD, Cisco, Sun/Oracle, Dell, Apple, EMC, NetApp
  • 7 years - Hardware and Software Integration
  • 7 years - Redhat Linux Systems Administration
  • 7 years - Systems Administration
  • 3 years - Ubuntu Systems Administration experience

Nice to Have

  • Certification: Red Hat Linux Certification
  • Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • Configure and Manage Centralized Logging and Audit Capabilities
  • MS Active Directory, LDAP
  • Virtualization Technologies (VMware, including ESXi and VCenter configuration)
  • VMWare ESXi and Associated Management Systems

Any prior military experience is a plus. They will modify the years of experience if someone has the majority of the technical skills and a military background.

  • Must be knowledgeable in Red Hat Enterprise Linux -- Min 7 years of hands-on with various Linux. This is a Linux Systems Administration role.Scripting experience with either: Python, Bash, or Ansible.
  • Network administration: managing data center and small network configurations: switches, routers, firewalls, modern software management and monitoring tools, some knowledge of automation technique
  • System administration: install, maintain, package, patch business/user applications and Linux-based computer systems

Optional, but desired:

  • Experience with managing classified IT systems, STIGs, SCAPS, RMF
  • Experience and familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Experience and familiarity with Ubuntu
  • Experience maintaining directory services. (e.g., IDM and some Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, etc.).
  • Experience with virtual machines. (e.g., VMWare vSphere, etc.).
  • Experience managing system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
  • Able to diagnose and perform repairs on faulty system/server hardware.
  • Install, update, and troubleshoot systems/servers.
  • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
  • Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
  • Conduct periodic system maintenance including cleaning (both physically and electronically), disk checks, routine reboots, data dumps, and testing.
  • Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support

Clearance Level: Secret Clearance is required to start.- Must be US Citizen

Location: Candidates will need to be 100% onsite from the first day of assignment. There may be some flexibility down the road for some partial remote work but it is dependent upon the nature of the projects being worked on.
